AI development company Scale AI, based in California, announced its first office location outside its domestic market: London. Having held discussions to raise investments close to $13 billion, the company has zeroed in on London as the first location of its international business.
Having worked with the open-source entities OpenAI and Cohere and the US military, among others, Scale AI aims to be in a city full of technical talent, positioning its European headquarters in London.
Scale AI London expansion
The move will establish a base in London, which shows the city as a technology, talent, and innovation hub. Established in 2016, Scale AI is now looking towards tapping London’s great base to further its global ambitions. The planned office will create high-skill jobs by tapping into the mix of local talent and specialized expertise from the U.S.
The founder and CEO of Scale AI, Alexandr Wang, on his part, was very optimistic that London would turn out to be a place for growth and collaboration in the AI space.

Strategic Alliance and Government Support Scale AI’s entry into the European market corresponds well with the UK government’s vision of using AI to drive economic prosperity and technological advancement.
Understanding the role of AI in shaping the future, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has welcomed the decision by Scale AI to make London its home for a European base. Expectations from the UK government now indicate that Scale AI will replicate its successful partnerships with the US government on British soil, and in effect potentially revolutionize sectors ranging from defense to healthcare.
