According to data from the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, the total market value of Bitcoin and Ethereum futures ETFs reached HK$1.2 billion in the first quarter, with capital inflows reaching HK$592 million.

Brian Roberts, head of securities product development at the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, revealed that since the Securities and Futures Commission approved the public offering of virtual asset futures ETFs in Hong Kong on October 31, 2022, three virtual asset futures ETFs investing in Bitcoin and Ethereum futures have been listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. This batch of ETFs has been favored by investors and has been actively traded since its launch. The average daily trading volume increased from HK$8.9 million in 2023 to HK$51.3 million in the first quarter of 2024, and attracted HK$529 million in capital inflows.
