The protection of biometric data collected by Worldcoin has been discussed by Mexican legislators such as María Eugenia Hernández of the Morena party. Hernández has demanded that the INAI investigation determine whether the personal information collected and the tokens issued are safe to be captured against Bitcoin.

Countries such as Spain and Portugal have temporarily suspended Worldcoin operations due to data privacy issues and special attention to the personal data of minors. In Latin America, Argentine and Chilean authorities also carry out assessments of the implications of Worldcoin data collection and partly introduce the fine process.
