Bitcoin (BTC) Can Be Added to the Reserves of the Swiss National Bank!

An important Bitcoin referendum may be held in Switzerland.

A group of cryptocurrency supporters called the Bitcoin Initiative, led by Yves Bennaim of 2B4CH, has launched a referendum on changing the Swiss constitution. Cryptocurrency supporters want the leading cryptocurrency, Bitcoin (BTC), to be added to the Swiss National Bank's reserves.

According to the statements made, this group plans to impose an obligation on the Swiss National Bank (SNB) to include BTC in its reserves, just like gold.

“The addition of Bitcoin to the Central Bank reserves will help preserve the country's sovereignty and neutrality in an increasingly uncertain world.

"We are about to complete the organizational preparations for the referendum and the documents that need to be submitted to the State Chancellery for the start of the public hearing process."

“Even a small investment in Bitcoin by a national bank will have a significant signaling effect on society and highlight Switzerland's reputation as a cryptocurrency country.”
