⏩ Worldcoin, the cryptocurrency project founded by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, has announced that it will launch World Chain later this summer. It will be secured by Ethereum as L2 and designed to be scalable with the Superchain ecosystem.
⏩ A notable parameter also mentioned by the project is that 44% of the gas fees used on the previous OP Mainnet came from Worldcoin users.
⏩ In terms of fee currency, World Chain will still keep the gas fee unit as ETH. However, users can still have the option to pay network fees with the project's WLD coin.
