BTC HALVING: WHAT IT IS

BTC halving, or Bitcoin halving, refers to the periodic event where the reward for mining new Bitcoin blocks is cut in half. This happens every 210,000 blocks, or approximately every four years. For example, after the first halving in 2012, the block reward was reduced from 50 BTC to 25 BTC. After the second halving in 2016, the block reward was reduced to 12.5 BTC. This process continues until all 21 million Bitcoins have been mined, which is expected to happen sometime around the year 2140.

Here's a summary of the potentials of Bitcoin halving in 2024:

- Reduced supply: The halving will reduce the supply of new Bitcoin being introduced into circulation, which could potentially increase demand and the price of Bitcoin.

- Greater adoption: As the supply of new Bitcoin decreases, some experts believe that this could increase the number of people adopting and using Bitcoin.

- Historical precedent: If previous halving are any indication, the 2024 halving could lead to a significant increase in the price of Bitcoin. For example, after the 2012 and 2016 halvings, the price of Bitcoin increased dramatically.
