Recently, I received several private messages from fans who were seeking help because they were scammed while lurking. How could a lurker be scammed? The whole process was very touching. So I had to publish another anti-scam guide to wake everyone up.
Cryptocurrency is very popular now. Bitcoin is about to be halved. ORDI has risen 10,000 times, ETHS has risen 1,000 times, and various SOL tokens have soared to the sky. People are dazzled. I can't understand each project. If I don't study the underlying logic, I think I'm too rational and missed hundreds of millions.
If you have this kind of thinking, you are not far from being cheated. Everyone knows the truth, we should make money within our own knowledge. But as soon as the bull market comes, everyone becomes extremely confident, thinking that money is shit and you can make a fortune by doing anything. There is nothing wrong with self-confidence, but blind self-confidence can easily lead to losses and fraud.
Investment is risky, and we can accept a loss if we adjust our mentality. But the loss caused by being deceived is really hard to accept. Now it is almost impossible to recover the money if you are deceived by cryptocurrency, and there is no way to protect your rights. You have to comfort yourself by saying that it is a lesson learned, but it is obviously completely avoidable, so why should we learn a lesson?
First of all, everyone understands that blockchain is still a very small circle and a new industry, and there is indeed a certain cognitive gap. However, the blockchain cryptocurrency market has been around for more than ten years, and it is already a very mature market, far from being as weird as everyone imagines.
Many people who have gained a lot are those who have studied the industry and love to learn. However, many newbies face a new circle and will inevitably enter various communities and join various different groups during the learning process. This is the beginning of learning, but also the beginning of pitfalls.
Because the current blockchain communities are basically open, most of them allow members to join and communicate freely, which inevitably gives criminals an opportunity to take advantage of it.
These scammers often disguise themselves as ordinary community members and lurk in community groups. They occasionally make a post to become familiar to the community, making it difficult for community administrators to guard against them. However, no matter how they lurk and disguise themselves, they are all for the purpose of making a move in the end.
The usual operation is to send a QR code, link or something like that, but it will usually be immediately cleared by the community management, and everyone will be reminded to be careful of phishing viruses or scam group chats. But if people still click on it despite such a reminder, then it is not the community's fault.
Phishing websites and virus links are very common means of committing evil in the Internet industry, so they are even more rampant in high-value circles such as blockchain. There have been many cases where 499 scammers clicked on a real person in a group of 500 people. Therefore, old players generally don't click on such websites, and those who fall into the trap are basically newbies.
The above are all scams that use technology to deceive people. We will not go into details in this issue, but will publish a special issue to explain them to you in the future. In this issue, we will mainly talk about another type of scam, how scammers find newbies one-on-one to commit fraud.
First, the scammer will add a friend privately, and then chat with the victim, talking about the community content and some projects in the blockchain market, in order to test the victim's level. Then, they will throw out some profit inducements, the most common of which are routines such as "mining", "financial management", and "U exchange".
Generally, they will post some profitable news in their friend circles, and induce benefits through chatting. After attracting the victim's interest, they will pretend to be busy and leave the victim alone for a while. In short, the scammers have endless tricks.
But the ultimate goal of all the tricks is to guide the victims to transfer the encrypted assets to the wallet address they specify, or log in the private key to the wallet tool they specify. No matter what the trick is, as long as you do what they say, you will basically get nothing out of it.
1. In real life, everyone knows not to transfer money. Those who transfer money are all scammers. Crypto assets are valuable assets and are actually equivalent to real money. In addition, the scammers’ chat numbers are fake, and the wallet addresses are not real names. Once the crypto assets are transferred, they cannot be withdrawn, and there is almost no possibility of recovery.
2. Blockchain asset wallets are universal. As long as it is an on-chain function, it can be operated through your existing wallet. There is no need for you to operate the wallet private key separately (the importance of private keys can be found in the author's previous works). Anyone who requires you to export the private key to another place to operate is 100% a scammer.
3. A decent community is open for communication, and administrators are almost all knowledgeable about the blockchain industry. Joining a good blockchain community can basically meet all the learning needs of a novice. Are there any other issues that need to be discussed secretly?
Don’t underestimate this method. Currently in the blockchain circle, the above-mentioned methods seem simple, but they are the most successful routines for fraudsters. According to the requests for help received by the author in the past month, the cumulative amount of fraud has exceeded 100,000 yuan.
These scammers are not picky either, they will cheat anyone from tens of thousands to tens of thousands. No one's money comes from the wind, it's good to be willing to learn, but many people will never get over the trauma of being cheated of tens of thousands of dollars for no reason.
Moreover, in this type of fraud, the identities of the scammers are all fake, and crypto asset fraud is difficult to track. The cost of the scammers' crimes is low, and the probability of the victims recovering their assets is minimal. It is very infuriating to think that you will have to eat more bread for a few more years while the scammers are at large.
Once again, blockchain anti-fraud, refuse to add privately! ! All private additions are fraud! All links are virus-carrying! Protect your wallet mnemonics and keys, and do not participate in the so-called "mining", "financial management" and "U exchange" of unknown origin. If someone adds your friend privately in the community group, contact the community administrator and group owner as soon as possible to verify the other party's identity.
Everyone has a responsibility to fight against blockchain fraud. We should strengthen prevention and prevent scammers from going unpunished. Follow me to learn more about blockchain.
