Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin re-shared his article about Layer 3 solutions from over a year ago on social media and concluded that Layer 3 solutions will not work as people might expect. That magically increases the processing power of the network. Although these solutions are able to reduce some of the fixed costs associated with large transaction issuances and deposits and withdrawals, they do not significantly increase the throughput of the system.
