[Mastercard may soon be integrated into XRP wallets]

Xumm Wallet founder Wietse Wind recently announced in a post that they are working on integrating debit card functionality into Xumm Wallet. The news was revealed in response to an XRP user who was eager to use his charge card with the Xumm wallet.

Wind plans to launch a self-managed Debit MasterCard that will allow users to set custom transaction limits on their accounts. In addition, he also mentioned the new feature of the Xumm-Tangem NFC hardware device wallet card, which allows users to pre-load $50 of XRP into the wallet card and maintain account reserves.

In response to questions from the XRP community, Wind clarified that the Tangem NFC hardware device wallet card is mainly used as a physical device to protect crypto assets, and is not used in terminals or ATM machines. He also revealed future projects to integrate credit cards with Xumm and further combine the functionality of self-managed wallets with charge cards.

Regarding the question of whether there will be additional fees for the charge card feature, user John Mcclain hopes that the founders of XRPL Labs can avoid the additional +1% processing fee. Mcclain complained that Uphold Exchange's custody solution had charged high fees for debit transactions, adding up to significant costs.

Wind responded that credit/charge cards by their very nature include fees that support features such as insurance and cash back and generate revenue for the company. He believes that establishing a completely independent financial infrastructure will be more beneficial in the long run.
