The awakening of the fifth-largest Bitcoin whale after a five-year dormancy has stirred significant interest in the cryptocurrency community. Holding 94,500 BTC, valued at $6.6 billion USD, this wallet has recently re-entered the scene, according to data from Arkham Intelligence.

Originally receiving a substantial amount of Bitcoin back in 2019, the wallet remained inactive until now. However, over the weekend, it saw activity as the Bitcoin within it was split and transferred to new addresses. As a result, the original wallet now holds a mere 1.4 Bitcoins, while the bulk of the holdings, approximately $5 billion USD worth of Bitcoin, have been redistributed across three separate wallets.

The owner of this wallet strategically split the Bitcoin, sending one portion intact to a new wallet and further dividing the remainder between two additional wallets. This maneuver effectively reshuffled the 94,500 BTC, cementing the wallet owner's status as one of the top Bitcoin holders globally.

Miguel Morel, CEO of Arkham, highlighted the unique nature of this wallet's activity, noting its minimal transaction history and lack of ties to any exchange, unlike many other large Bitcoin-holding wallets.

This movement of Bitcoin is particularly noteworthy as it represents the first significant activity from an individual wallet in recent times. Prior movements include an anonymous wallet sending 27 BTC to Satoshi Nakamoto's address in January 2024, and three dormant wallets becoming active in November 2023, transferring approximately 7,000 BTC to Bit fin

Despite these developments, the Bitcoin market has remained relatively unaffected, with Bitcoin maintaining a trading value around $70,000.
