Canary Network Recommendation for XRP Ledger

Ripple Labs and XRP Ledger ecosystem developers have agreed that a Canary Network should be established to test major updates and products before they are released to the mainnet. Wietse Wind, founder of Xumm Wallet, emphasizes the importance of building a strong testnet.

Requirement to Test AMM Feature

The expected Automatic Market Maker (AMM) feature in XRP Ledger has stopped due to an error, and it has been stated that this shows the importance of the test network. Wind stated that it is important to conduct realistic tests with Canary Network's own tokens and stablecoins to prevent failures.

Canary Network should mirror the XRP Ledger mainnet and include all key players in the ecosystem, including traders and developers. Wind emphasizes that this network should contribute to decentralization.

Comparison with Other Testnets

The XRP Ledger Canary Network proposal is planned to function similarly to Ethereum's test networks such as Goerli and Sepolia. In Ethereum, major updates are tested on test networks and integrated into the main network. For example, Ethereum's Dencun Upgrade went smoothly thanks to testnets.

Since Wind's proposal has attracted attention, more discussions about the development of the Canary Network are expected in the coming days. While these developments in the cryptocurrency world raise questions about whether this is a turning point for XRP, it is stated that the developers are working to solve the problem and the network will be operational again. As of the moment the article was prepared, XRP is trading at $ 0.63.
