Back in 2010, when I was an undergrad-student, I purchased 20 Bitcoins with just $50. As a tech lover, I thought it would be fun to buy some Bitcoin just like we buy tiny little things to keep in our secret box.
Due to my academic pressure, I forgot about my bitcoins after a few months and never thought about it until last week.
After my graduation in Media Studies, I wanted to migrate to a developing country to make documentaries on their daily life struggles and stories. So, I moved to Cape Town in 2013 and started roaming around the countries of the Africa region. I wanted to make videos, but I ended up working in the development sector to improve their healthcare and sanitation system.
In 2021, after the pandemic, I moved to India to work in the remote areas of the country and explore their diverse culture. Currently, I’m happily working here. But last week, one of my colleagues was gossiping with me, and he said, “Lisa, Do you know, Bitcoin is $73,000 now? It seems - nothing can stop it, and the whole world is shifting to Bitcoin from Fiat money anytime soon.”
For a second, I was surprised. I said, “Wait, what did you say? $73,000? Are you kidding me?”
He said, “No, no, no, Lisa! You can cross-check it yourself.”
For the last 14 years, I never thought about Bitcoin once. Somehow, I didn’t even hear about it as I was busy with my activities. As I got to know about this, I immediately called my mom to find my old MacBook and the notebook where I wrote the key to my wallet. I did not have an online wallet back then.
Then I started googling about the crypto market and figured out that Bitcoin might be $100,000 this year. I already created a Binance account for myself, and I’m waiting to go back to Florida to access my 20 Bitcoins and sell them for more than a million dollars!
OMG! $50 turned into a million dollars! What would you do if you were me?'
