According to some news from the "Cryptotrends" page, the WorldCoin company would stop storing biometric data in its ORBEs
I quote parts of the note:
"Worldcoin announced that it will stop storing and encrypting users' biometric data in its Orbs or iris scanners, the information will now be self-guarded by each individual. All this, after possible privacy risks were revealed.
In this regard, Tiago Sada, from Tools for Humanity, expressed that the Worldcoin project has always taken privacy seriously, but sees the personal custody initiative as an opportunity to reinforce the level of trust felt by potential users who have not yet been have registered. "Although before everything was deleted by default, now the fact that users have control over what to do with their data definitely gives you that peace of mind of not having to trust anyone."
Worldcoin embraces data autonomy: Users take control of their privacy
Specifically, Worldcoin incorporated a Personal Escrow feature to ensure that user data is kept within the user's device and not in the scanner. Personal Custody itself involves storing information, such as images, metadata and derived data generated by the Orb device, and used to generate the iris code during World ID verification on the user's device. This method actually allows users to control the handling of their data.
In this regard, according to Worldcoin, it now allows "control of the flow of this data", not only in verification, but in any "future use." Likewise, they indicated: "This helps ensure that everyone can learn about Worldcoin before deciding if they want to share their information to help improve the project."
What do you think about what is happening to WorldCoin?
