Let's talk about Ethereum ETF today.
SEC will not be able to ban the launch of spot Ethereum ETFs
This was stated by Brian Quintenz, an employee of the a16z crypto fund and a former commissioner of the CFTC.
CFTC - US Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
The regulator approved a futures ETF based on Ethereum after the blockchain transitioned to Proof-of-Stake. Thus, they have already agreed that ETH is not in their jurisdiction.
The SEC could not allow trading of an illegal instrument on a national securities exchange. If the Commission considered ETH a “security”, it would not approve the listing of futures ETFs.
So, in theory, no matter how the SEC wants to put a spoke in the wheels, in the end there will most likely be approval of the Ethereum ETF😉
