Initially all alt coins used BTC pairs, so when BTC corrected, users secured assets by buying alt coins.
why not secure it in USDT?
because USDT is not as trustworthy as it is now. this is the trigger for the alt season.
Nowadays, alt coins rarely use BTC pairs, but most of them use USDT pairs. So don't be surprised if your main coin is sluggish when the other one is pumping hard.
