EOS Foundation President Yves La Rose was next to lend his voice to another proposal that has recently attracted attention within the community due to the growing interest and narrative around RAM within the EOS ecosystem. He pointed to RAM’s significant stake, approximately 21 million EOS, and highlighted recent market activity following the decision to stop releasing RAM.
The core of the proposal is to change the payment method for block producers (BP) from EOS to RAM. The tweak aims to capitalize on the growing interest in RAM, allowing BPs to use the RAM for their applications, speculate, or sell it back to EOS’s system, albeit subject to a 0.5% sales fee. Yves noted that currently most BPs accrue EOS payments for about a month before converting to fiat currency, suggesting that a similar pattern may develop for RAM, potentially putting buying pressure on RAM during the accumulation period.
