• Ethereum's Layer 2 (L2) arbitrage has been fully integrated into the Dencun update with ArbOS "Atlas", which lowers L2 fees. A March 19 post on X (formerly Twitter) states that the minimum and average commissions are now lower. It states the following.

'Atlas' was introduced in addition to the integration with Arbitrum's 'blob' (the space reserved in each #Ethereum block to receive L2 data), which was introduced in the March 13 Dencun update. According to the announcement, this represents 'phase 2' of #Arbitrum , which aims to increase availability and make the network "capable of handling more economic activity at a lower average cost.

Future enhancements, such as Stylus, will also increase this efficiency and enable new usage scenarios," the company adds.

While Arbitrum's average fee of $0.011 is significantly cheaper than the previous average of $0.70, #blockchain infrastructure is not yet leading the "L2 race". According to data aggregator GasFees. io, Base and Optimism are still offering users more competitive rates.

However, Dencun's full support for updates and the introduction of Phase 2 has been enough to put Arbitrum ahead of networks such as Zora, zkSync and Scroll in terms of commission pricing.
