As of this morning, after the Cancun upgrade, in the head L2, the DA layer has been switched to the Ethereum mainnet Blob, including ZK Rollup-based ZkSync and Starknet. According to actual measurements, after the switch, the gas fees of the two L2s dropped by 1 order of magnitude (10 times).
However, this effect is achieved when the DA consuming OP Rollup head projects Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, Blast, etc. do not switch DA layers.
So we are still waiting for them to switch DA layers one after another, and after the Rollup parameters are adjusted and the market competition strategy game is balanced, before we judge the effectiveness of this Cancun upgrade.
