Golden Finance reported that Kristin Smith, CEO of the Blockchain Association, a cryptocurrency industry advocacy organization, said that the association is shifting its focus from New York State to Washington and will refocus on petitioning Washington regulators and officials. The Blockchain Association is shifting resources from New York State to federal policies. We will continue to recruit and train our full-time employees in Washington. Our mission remains unchanged: to advance the future of cryptocurrency in the United States.
The move comes months after New York Governor Kathy Hochul signed a law banning certain types of crypto mining in the state, making New York the first U.S. state to outlaw the activity.
