Ava Labs founder and CEO Emin Gün Sirer has won a defamation lawsuit against crypto influencer Emre Aksoy and was awarded $3 million in damages.
The lawsuit stems from claims by Emre Aksoy in a February 2021 YouTube video in which Aksoy linked Sirer to an Islamist group the Turkish government calls the Fethullah Terrorist Organization (FETO). The lawsuit states that Aksoy is described as a “marketing expert” hired to promote competing products from Ava Labs.
According to Sirer, the smear campaign cost him millions of dollars and caused the price of AVAX to plummet at the time. The token fell 57% from its high of $55.51 on February 11, 2021, to $23.85 by the end of the month. (Cointelegraph) #BNB #bicasso #crypto2023 #ETH2.0
