Changpeng Zhao (CZ), the former CEO of Binance, is finally speaking out after resigning as chief executive of the crypto exchange.

“All the free time I suddenly have now is ‘enjoyable,’” he said.

Previously, U.S. federal prosecutors urged the authorities in court not to allow Zhao Changpeng to leave the United States.

CZ expresses gratitude to the crypto community

In his latest X post, CZ thanked the crypto community for their words of concern. He added: "While I can't respond to or even see all the comments, I really appreciate it."

However, Changpeng Zhao said that he often joked about wanting to retire early, but he also often joked about "be careful what you wish for." CZ said, what a different transition. I'm still trying to get used to it all. Over the past two days, several friends have told me that I have a “resilient mindset.” Not sure if that's true, but as always, I'm mentally stable. He concluded: “All the free time I suddenly have now is enjoyable.”

Changpeng Zhao adapts to the transition days after leaving office

In an earlier X post, CZ officially resigned from his position, acknowledging that it was emotionally difficult but emphasizing that it was the right decision for the community, the exchange, and himself. However, he admitted his mistake, prompting the move.

Changpeng Zhao expressed confidence in the ability of Binance’s new CEO Richard Teng. He believes that Teng has the ability to lead Binance through the next stage of growth, emphasizing security, transparency, compliance and growth. CZ remains a shareholder in the world’s largest crypto exchange and plans to take a break after six and a half years of continuous work.

He added that his future involves passive investing and supporting startups in the areas of blockchain, Web3, DeFi, artificial intelligence and biotech. While he's no longer seeking another CEO job, he's looking forward to mentoring entrepreneurs privately.
