Curious cases in the world of cryptocurrencies part 1/2
US journalist Mark Fauenfelder lost access to the wallet on which he kept three thousand dollars worth of bitcoins purchased in early 2016, a little more than seven bitcoins in total. Seeing that the dollar equivalent of bitcoins was growing immeasurably, he purchased a Trezor hardware wallet to celebrate. To access the wallet, you had to come up with twenty-four words in any order so that you could protect it with a password.
The journalist wrote the words on a piece of paper and placed them in a secluded drawer of his desk. He wanted to engrave these words on a metal plate so as not to lose them. Mark needed to fly to Japan on business, and he took his wife with him.
