Optimism announces fourth airdrop of over 10 million $OP tokens

Layer 2 Network Optimism has announced its fourth airdrop, focused on rewarding web3 artists, The Block reports.

According to the official announcement, the airdrop distributed 10,343,757.81 OP to 22,998 addresses, worth approximately $40.8 million. Users will be able to claim their tokens no later than February 13, 2025.

“A great society needs artists,” Optimism wrote on the airdrop collection page. “This airdrop is a thank you to artists and their ability to bring their creativity on-chain. Your contributions are vital to Optimism Collective.”

Users who create NFT art on the Ethereum mainnet or Optimism’s Superchain, a series of interconnected Layer 2 networks, between January 10, 2023 and January 10, 2024, are eligible to participate in the airdrop.

The airdrop rewards NFT creators based on the amount of gas spent by other users when minting or trading NFTs; the more popular the NFT project is, the more rewards NFT creators receive. Users can earn 5,000 OP for generating 1 ETH of gas on Optimism’s Superchain, and 50 OP for generating 1 ETH of gas on the Ethereum mainnet. The final reward per address is up to 6,000 OP (approximately $23,640).

User token allocations can be increased by 50% or multiplied by 1.5 through bonus qualifications, which include creating NFT contracts before January 10, 2023, transferring their created NFTs after November 11, 2023, and transferring NFTs created after November 11, 2023. Active on Superchain since July 11, or a collector spending more than 0.0005 ETH to transfer one of their NFTs since July 14, 2023. The size of the increase depends on the number of eligible bonus events. #op🔥🔥 #内容挖矿
