1️⃣ The Block: The team behind the landing protocol and decentralized stablecoin #HAI has announced an airdrop of the governance token #KITE ahead of the mainnet launch on the #Optimism network. The project will distribute 22.3% of the KITE emission. Eligible recipients include users of the Reflexer Finance protocol and the HAI testnet, as well as Optimism governance participants with a minimum holding of 50 #OP who have cast at least one vote. The mainnet launch for the algorithmic stablecoin is scheduled for February 20. 🚀

2️⃣ Coin98 Analytics: #opBNB from BNB Chain developers has surpassed Arbitrum in the total number of transactions among Layer 2 networks. 🌐

3️⃣ Bangkok Post: The Ministry of Finance of Thailand has announced the exemption of cryptocurrency trading from value-added tax (VAT). The move aims to stimulate the country's transformation into a hub for digital assets and promote them as an alternative capital-raising tool. 🏙️

4️⃣ Blockworks: Authorities in the city of Minsk-Mazovetski in Poland, with a population of 37,500, have launched the locally-focused stablecoin MinsCoin on the UrbanChange platform. UrbanChange issues "stable coins" backed by USDC for use in cities. 🌐

5️⃣ MetaMask: Through the new feature Robinhood Connect, MetaMask users will be able to directly purchase cryptocurrency through the Robinhood platform. In turn, the broker's clients will have the ability to manage their crypto assets through the popular crypto wallet. Currently, this feature is only available to residents of the United States. 💳
