Futures
- You look confused.
- I just came out of the cryogenesis tube.
- I figured. Everyone has their story and almost none of them are good.
- My story is like that of Philip J Fry from Futurama but in reverse.
- You are not the first person in the 21st century who has watched a lot of television.
Some staker sisters developed cryogenesis technology and due to a miscalculation, sleeping for a few years turned into hundreds of years. The young woman had bet on a token and went to wait inside a hydrogen tube like many people. When he woke up he looked at his wallet and the token no longer existed. Demons! One more fallen non-quantum cryptography project.
Plan b had been to keep a crypto attached to gold. So bad luck that asteroid mining and mines on Mars had turned gold, once a scarce resource, into the new plastic.
He had dreamed of a future of foods that exploded his taste buds and surprising game consoles and there they were unreachable behind the shop windows.
- If it comforts you, you are not the only person with that story. That also happened to a person from your time named CZ. He had some cryptocurrencies and now he only has five kiwi plants 🥝 which is a very important activity for the community. Trying to escape from the SECC, he programmed the cryogenesis machine to wake up 10 years later, thinking that that institution would no longer exist. And the SECC today, 400 years old, is a bloody reign that extends across half the world. All these awakened people are not friends of corporations and institutions, they call them lumpen-genic, they are a very common urban tribe. Many other people who awaken go to live in the forest where there are communes, however the majority are crowded in the suburbs of a neighborhood called Skrillex, if that is how it is pronounced.
- The situation is difficult but I could get a job... or not?
- Impossible, you are obsolete at this time.
- Demons!
