OriginTrail is a decentralized protocol that enables seamless data exchange between organizations in a multi-chain environment.
The OriginTrail protocol, developed by Trace Labs, is the world's first official Decentralized Knowledge Graph. OriginTrail launched on the Ethereum platform in 2018, giving users the ability to store and retrieve data on the network.
Currently, OriginTrail interacts with platforms such as Ethereum, Polygon and Gnosis Chain. The protocol token, TRAC, is built on the ERC-20 standard and can be traded with other cryptocurrencies on the Ethereum network.
After merging with Ethereum, confirmation of transactions with TRAC is carried out using the Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism.
