Bitcoin price surpassed $48,000
Amid the launch of trading in spot Bitcoin ETFs on US stock exchanges, the price of the first cryptocurrency exceeded $48,000.
The rapid rise in price is accompanied by a surge in trading volumes.
At the time of writing, the first cryptocurrency is trading around $47,000 (+7% over the last 24 hours, according to CoinGecko).
Ahead of its Nasdaq debut, BlackRock's spot Bitcoin ETF (IBIT) traded 25.6% above its NAV in pre-trading session.
Bloomberg analyst James Seyffart noted that 30 minutes after the start, trading volume for new products exceeded $1.2 billion.
