The number of Bitcoin whales has dropped to the lowest level since 2019. According to Glassnode data on February 19, the number of wallet addresses holding more than 1,000 Bitcoins (or more) is 2,027, and each whale holds nearly $25 million in Bitcoin. The last low point occurred on August 5, 2019, when the number of related addresses was 2,023.
In addition, the data also shows that the number of Bitcoin whales peaked in February 2021, at about 2,500, and has been steadily declining since then, with only a rebound between February and March 2022. The current number of "super whale" Bitcoin addresses holding more than 10,000 coins is 117, with little change. (Decrypt)
