According to Odaily Planet Daily, the Russian Central Bank recently explained that the digital ruble will not change the way the country manages its monetary policy. The bank stated in a draft outlining the central bank's policy direction for 2025-2027 that even after the launch of the digital ruble, the central bank will continue to use the same tools to target inflation.
The emergence of a digital form of the national currency will not affect the mechanism of monetary policy implementation. The Bank of Russia will continue to manage money market interest rates through operations of providing liquidity to banks and absorbing liquidity.
