According to TechFlow, Uniswap Labs pointed out that the current intent-based system has fragmentation problems, each with different fillers and no unified cross-chain standards. Therefore, they worked with AcrossProtocol to propose the ERC-7683 standard, which aims to solve this problem through a universal filling network.

The working principle of ERC-7683 includes users signing cross-chain orders, user funds being held in custody in a settlement contract, fillers competing to fill orders on the target chain, and the winning fillers executing operations and releasing funds.

Establishing a standard for the intent system will improve the experience of applications, fillers, and users. Applications can route intents to a wider network, fillers have lower barriers to entry, and users can get faster filling and lower gas fees. It is worth noting that anyone can implement ERC-7683.
