According to TechFlow, on September 25, Eric Holst, a member of the Polkadot community, disclosed on LinkedIn all of Polkadot’s marketing expenses during the Token2049 period, totaling US$387,772.

Of this, $199,500 was spent on event sponsorship, $100,000 was invested in a 36-square-meter booth, $25,000 was spent on demand generation activities, $20,000 was spent on travel expenses, $10,000 was spent on peripheral products, and $5,000 was spent on photography and videography.

Holst said that the funds came from Events Bounty and OpenGov Treasury, and were approved by the DAO community vote. As for whether the investment of nearly $500,000 is worthwhile, the author said that it is not yet certain, and a report is being written to analyze the results.
