Elon Musk's social media platform X will be exempted from the EU's Digital Markets Act (DMA), according to Odaily Planet Daily. The regulator determined that the platform's impact on the EU market is not significant enough.
The European Commission is nearing the end of its investigation into the platform and is poised to conclude it does not fall under the DMA’s jurisdiction, according to people familiar with the matter. X will sidestep many of the DMA’s rules.
The reason is that its services are not strong enough for business users and do not meet certain revenue thresholds. The European Commission is likely to announce the results of the investigation in October.
