Singapore will allow cashless gambling at its two casinos after changes to the Casino Control Act, but will not allow the use of cryptocurrencies, Bloomberg reported. Examples of cashless betting include placing bets directly from virtual credits through a cashless gaming account or e-wallet.

Singapore’s Gambling Regulatory Authority has no intention of allowing cryptocurrencies to be used as gambling chips in casinos due to money laundering risks, in one of the latest changes to the city-state’s casino rules.

In addition, Singapore will approve the transfer of power of major shareholders of casino operators to the Minister of Home Affairs.
