According to BlockBeats, on September 5, at the KDDI Summit, OpenAI Japan subsidiary CEO Tadao Nagasaki revealed that the new generation of models code-named GPT-Next is expected to be 100 times more powerful than GPT-4 and is scheduled to be released later this year.

The performance improvement of the GPT-Next model is attributed to the optimized architecture design and improved learning efficiency, rather than simply relying on huge computing resources.

He also revealed that OpenAI currently has less than 2,000 employees worldwide, about half of whom are focused on AI development. OpenAI's major clients include Apple, Coca-Cola and biotech giant Moderna.
