According to Odaily Planet Daily, the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) pointed out that North Korean cybercriminals are "actively targeting" employees in the Web3 industry to steal encrypted funds.
North Korean criminals have deployed sophisticated social engineering strategies to defraud employees of cryptocurrency and decentralized finance (DeFi) companies, and such schemes pose a âpersistent threatâ to entities holding large amounts of cryptocurrencies or related products.
The FBI said that in the past few months, North Korean malicious cyber attackers have conducted research on various targets related to cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds (ETFs), indicating that North Korean attackers may conduct malicious cyber activities against companies related to cryptocurrency ETFs or other cryptocurrency-related financial products.
