According to Odaily Planet Daily, Ripple will launch a new token standard MPT on XRP Ledger this month, aiming to enhance its support for real-world assets (RWA).
Jasmine Cooper, Ripple’s head of DeFi products, explained that MPT was designed specifically for RWAs and allows metadata to be stored directly with the assets.
This integration enhances the scalability and flexibility of XRPL, making it more suitable for institutional use cases and lowering the barrier to entry for these organizations.
