According to Cointelegraph, The Open Network (TON) experienced another outage on August 28 due to users minting a large number of DOGS tokens. TON said on social media that the problem began at 19:19 UTC. The TON block browser shows that the last block was generated about 4 hours ago. The network spokesperson assured that all funds are safe and the team is restoring network functions.

On August 27, the DOGS Meme coin also caused the TON network to be interrupted for several hours, and block production stopped at workchain block 45,341,899. Some centralized exchanges restricted TON deposits and withdrawals. Block production resumed in the early morning of August 28.

Helius developer Mert strongly criticized the two outages, calling them "unacceptable" and pointing out the lack of communication between TON officials and the community. The recent arrest of Telegram founder Pavel Durov by French authorities caused the price of Toncoin to fall to about $5 on August 26. Later, an error message claimed that Durov was released, and the price of Toncoin rebounded to $6.11, but fell again after the clarification.
