According to TechFlow, Starknet announced the release of Cairo 2.8.0, which mainly focuses on stability and bug fixes.
This update only affects the advanced compiler (Cairo → Sierra), which means that contracts written using the new version can be deployed to testnet or mainnet immediately.
The new version improves the stability and performance of the language server and adds new language features such as range operators. In addition, the Cairo package registry scarbs.xyz is now online. Uploads are still in the whitelist stage, but users can browse popular packages.
The Starknet team reminds developers to use the latest version of scarb 2.8.0 and VSCode extension to enjoy the latest improvements, and encourages reporting any related issues in the Telegram support group.
