Thai authorities raided an illegal Bitcoin (BTC) mining site in Ratchaburi, west of Bangkok, on Friday, ChainCatcher reported. The raid came after some residents in the area complained about frequent power outages for more than a month.
According to Chanwong, records showed that the raided houses consumed unusually high amounts of electricity. However, residents did not pay for most of the electricity consumed. During the raid, police and officials from the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) discovered that most of the mining equipment had been relocated.
No one was arrested during the raid, which was the fourth by authorities on illegal bitcoin mines in the region.
