According to ChainCatcher, Hudson Jameson, a former Ethereum employee, published an article on X about the budget of the Ethereum Foundation. Hudson said that the annual budget of the Ethereum Foundation (EF) is about $100 million, which is used to support a variety of projects and activities around the world.

Some key expenses of the foundation budget that may be overlooked include: legal fees for global trademark protection, the large number of servers and development infrastructure used by the protocol team, hosting and fees for http://ethereum.org, VDF research in collaboration with Filecoin, Devcon/DevConnect, grants, and salaries.

In terms of increasing transparency, Hudson said that many of the people’s requests are reflected in the Ethereum report to be released in 2022. He suggested that instead of asking to stop funding the foundation, it is better to directly ask for the relevant data you want to know.
