According to Cointelegraph, PleasrDAO filed for a preliminary injunction to prevent Martin Shkreli from distributing Wu-Tang Clan’s unique music album (Once Upon a Time in Shaolin).

PleasrDAO’s legal counsel claimed that Shkreli’s copying and playing of the album during a Twitter Spaces event on June 9, 2024, caused “irreparable harm” that cannot be remedied by monetary means.

Shkreli lost all rights to the album when he was forced to hand it over to U.S. law enforcement for securities fraud in 2018. PleasrDAO cited an 88-year restriction clause in Shkreli’s 2015 purchase agreement with the Wu-Tang Clan.

PleasrDAO argues that Shkreli violated the original purchase agreement by playing the album on social media. The court filing also states that Shkreli acknowledged the restrictions in interviews in 2016 and 2024.

Additionally, Shkreli recently claimed to have collaborated with Barron Trump to launch a meme coin, DJT, but failed to provide credible evidence. DJT’s price plummeted 95% on August 6.
