According to BlockBeats, on August 21, Offchain Labs, the developer behind Arbitrum, released its future technology roadmap. The roadmap includes horizontal scaling, decentralized sequencing, ZK proofs, and Stylus (MultiVM support). Key highlights of the roadmap are as follows:
Stylus will be launched on the Arbitrum One and Nova mainnets in early September 2024, supporting WASM languages such as Rust, C, and C++. BoLD and censorship timeout features are set to be introduced in the second half of 2024 to enhance security and decentralization. A decentralized sequencer is expected to be implemented in 2025, distributing transaction sequencing responsibilities.
A fast withdrawal feature will be released in the third quarter of 2024, enabling quick settlements between the AnyTrust chain and the parent chain. Chain Clusters are planned for 2025, aiming to reduce cross-chain communication time. Additionally, Offchain Labs plans to achieve multi-client support and an adaptive pricing mechanism in the first half of 2025 to improve performance and efficiency. The company is also actively researching the integration of zero-knowledge proof technology into the Arbitrum chain.
