According to PANews, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law on August 8 requiring bloggers and Telegram channel owners with at least 10,000 subscribers to register with Roskomnadzor. The new regulation mandates that bloggers who fail to report their specific audience to Roskomnadzor are prohibited from advertising and fundraising, and other channels are barred from reposting their publications.
The law also imposes restrictions on the number of SIM cards that can be sold to individuals. Foreign nationals are limited to owning a maximum of 10 SIM cards, while Russian citizens can possess up to 20 SIM cards. This measure aims to enhance control over digital communications and ensure compliance with national regulations.
