According to Odaily Planet Daily, a group of developers will launch the OP_NET testnet, a DeFi and smart contract solution on the Bitcoin chain, on Wednesday. They said it would bring programmable functions to Bitcoin.
OP_NET leverages the Tapscript component of Bitcoin’s Taproot upgrade, meaning it will support Ordinals and Runes.
“We want to really see DeFi on Bitcoin in full force,” said developer Chad Master, offering a preview of it.
