According to PANews, Hong Kong Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong Legislative Council member Wong Chun-shuo suggested that the Hong Kong government speed up the construction of a digital identity system and standards based on Hong Kong residents, and gradually establish digital identity applications that are widely adopted by public and private institutions.
He proposed to include digital identity in the smart convenience platform and strike a balance between the regulation and development of Web 3.0. Huang Junshuo also suggested using Web 3.0 technology to distribute electronic consumer vouchers to tourists, because its transaction cost is only 0.15 of the total, which is much cheaper than traditional banking methods.
