According to Odaily Planet Daily, Elvira Nabiullina, Governor of the Central Bank of Russia, said that regulators believe that Russia's central bank digital currency (CBDC) digital ruble will be widely adopted in the next five to seven years.
Nabiullina stressed that the digital ruble will become a familiar aspect of everyday life by 2031. She said the advantages of the digital ruble, such as free transfers for individuals and lower transaction fees for businesses, will drive its adoption.
