According to U.Today, the XRP Ledger community has issued a crucial alert regarding a fake xSPECTAR token. Scammers have reportedly created a counterfeit version of the token, using the same currency hex code as the legitimate one. The deception was identified on the XRPL explorer 'xrpscan', where the legitimate issuer's address is marked.
An XRPL community member, Daniel 'No' Keller, brought this issue to the attention of the crypto community. He warned xSPECTAR holders about the scam and pointed out the real issuer's address. Keller also highlighted the existence of a fake Automated Market Maker (AMM) pool, urging users to be cautious.
xSPECTAR, which operates its nodes and oracles on the XRPL and Flare Networks, also issued a warning. The company made it clear that the counterfeit token is not associated with them and advised users to verify any related information thoroughly. The XRP Ledger distributed exchange, one of the major platforms where the xSPECTAR Token can be accessed, is particularly at risk.
The recent alert and the subsequent warning from xSPECTAR underscore the ongoing need for vigilance in the cryptocurrency space. As scammers become increasingly sophisticated, users must stay informed, verify information, and exercise caution. In the case of XRP Ledger, they should always check the issuer address against official sources like 'xrpscan' to ensure the token's authenticity.
