According to Odaily, the Taiko Protocol, which was launched at the end of May, has spent a whopping $900,000 on Blob in less than two weeks since its inception. The protocol aims to provide users with cheaper and faster transactions than the Ethereum mainnet. By purchasing Blob, Taiko has been able to transfer user transactions to the Ethereum network.
Blob, a new resource for the L2 network, was launched in March as part of an Ethereum upgrade. It allows for the low-cost publication of Ethereum transactions. In comparison, Taiko's competitors, such as Optimism, spend less than $1,000 per day on Blob.
Daniel Wang, CEO of Taiko Labs, explained that the protocol is using more Blob than other L2s because it is a design decision, not a bug. He stated that Taiko has just launched its mainnet and there are many issues to resolve before it stabilizes.
