According to Odaily, the 16th upgrade of the Tezos protocol, named Paris, was launched on the mainnet on June 5. The primary goal of this upgrade is to enhance the speed and scalability of the network. A key objective of the upgrade and Tezos's scalability roadmap is to maintain low transaction costs in the Etherlink L2 network, which is EVM compatible, even under high network demand.
Arthur Breitman, co-founder of Tezos, stated that following the upgrade, Etherlink is now cheaper than Arbitrum and Optimism, and the user experience (UX) has been improved. The Paris upgrade is a significant step in Tezos's ongoing efforts to improve its network's performance and user experience.
