According to Odaily, data reveals that the trading volume of Ethereum futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) reached $1.26 billion in May. This figure represents a significant increase compared to the $615.75 million recorded in April, setting a new record for monthly trading volume.
In a market update from Wintermute on Wednesday, the number of outstanding Ethereum futures contracts on CME is nearing an all-time high. Analysts at Wintermute suggest that the rise in open contracts indicates growing interest in Ethereum trading among institutional investors, particularly in anticipation of the upcoming launch of an Ethereum spot exchange-traded fund (ETF). This trend suggests a shift in focus from Bitcoin to Ethereum.
